Does Biosilk damage your hair ?

Ok, i heard of Biosilk and the girls that use it , their hair looks very silky ! but they straightens it with a straighenter and i dont straighen my hair nor blow dry .


If i was to use Biosilk right after a shower, and let it air dry , will biosilk make my hair damaged? does it damage your hair even if u dont apply heat? just air dry?


Im askin this is becuase it contains alcohol and im kinda iffy about that . Please help?

It won't damage your hair, but I don't recommend using drugstore-brand hair products.
Reply:I've read a lot of reviews about Biosilk at Folica.com. Most people *love* it and give it 4 or 5 stars, but a few people say not to use it long-term or every day because, as you know, it contains alcohol. (I just saw a stylist on TV say that SD alcohol can lead to damage). But alcohol doesn't directly damage hair--it just dries out your hair and makes it break more easily.





If you get good results with it, I would say to go ahead and use it (especially if you aren't using heat styling), then put the moisture back in your hair with deep conditioner. Just keep an eye on the ends of your hair. If you start getting more split ends than usual, get a trim and consider switching to another product.





I've never tried Biosilk, but I still might someday. For now, I go with Aussie Leave-in Conditioner or Infusium 23 leave-in conditioner. They don't contain alcohol and work pretty well. ^_^





PS--I'm guessing from your avatar that you have naturallly straight hair. So you probably have less to worry about. Curly hair is more vulnerable to drying out. Plus, its easier to trim split ends out of straight hair...........

Reply:If you really want to have silky shiny and straight effect try Redken Smooth shampoo and conditioner, from a salon store not from any store, those are water down or have too much alcohol. Go to a Regis and purchase there, I have this shampoo and it really leaves your hair straight and silky without using any heat, but this is if you have wavy to almost straigh hair, it won't work if too curly.
Reply:no, its better if you apply it when your hair is still wet because when your hair dries, it seals in the biosilk.
