Very Dry Damanged Hair?

Okay, so I have had dry hair ever since 8th grade, and now I am a Jr. in College. My dry hair is due to heat damange, dye jobs, and hair relaxers(i think this is what it was) over the period of my life. Is it too late to get my hair to be normal again? I do not know what to do because since my hair is so dry, it is very wavy and not straight, and i have to use a straightening iron every day which only adds on to the dryness. It is a repeated cycle of damage hair for me. Does anyone have any tips on how to get my hair shiney and not as dry? I use Biosilk and use a heat resistant spray thing for my hair after i get out of the shower. But my hair is still dry as ever. My hair texture somewhat resembles the end of a broom stick (okay maybe i am over exaggerating, but it hurts when i poke the tip of my hair to my face.) HELP ME! =(

Very Dry Damanged Hair?
first of allll. you need to stop using the straightener, no matter how bad you're hair may look. don't use a blow dryer, that will kill it right there, i recommend, for straightness herbal essence "pin straight" "dangerously straight shampoo and conditioner" you just have to deal with it not being so straight for a while, let it get healthy again, it's possible, but it will take time. "heat resistance" that stuff never actually works, honestly, it's all about the chemicals you use in you're hair. shampoo, and conditioner. and do notttttt die you're hair, especially ever by yourself. that is the worst thing you can do
Reply:hot oil deep conditioners trim
Reply:just use herbal essences!! i used to have really dry hair and i used herbal essences and it helps sooo much
Reply:no problem ,first of all live all chemical shampoo n use herbal essence shampoo it give ur hair good look, shine n healthy n ur hair dryness will go.

use neem paste (leaves) smash it n apply on ur hair it give ur hair healthynees n breakness of hair will over.

n when ever u use oil in hair it should be remain for 1 or 2 hr.
Reply:I use Vigin Olive Oil ( cap Ful ) with my shanpoo To help It, It works Great For My Dry Hair,
Reply::D Ok. I dye my hair every few months - I forced myself to stop for a while. GIVE YOUR HAIR TIME TO RELAX. Promise yourself you won't use anymore stuff on it atleast for a few months.
Reply:all the damage you've done to your hair:

heating, dying, relaxing

is a lot, esp over long periods of time

first of all nothing you do will save your hair if you KEEP doing these things.

give your hair a break! really.

use leave-on deep conditioners to replenish moisture to your hair

you could probably use a trim too. i don't mean hack it all off, but i don't think you really need those broom bristles on your head, y'know?

go and get your hair trimmed at a salon and ask them to think it out,

so maybe there will be less hair for you to deal with

and from there you can condition and moisturize

i don't know if hair oils will work for you-- some people's hair gets oily enough, and applying hair oils just makes it slick and kind of gross

but you can try it if you think it'll help

and after washing your hair, comb it out- don't use a brush because you could damage the cuticles and it could split, esp since it's already in bad condition.

i really think though that you should take a break from the straightening. just put your hair up or something, idk.

braid it or whatever

do something else that won't kill your hair so badly

trim

(oh and when you get it trimmed, ask the people at the salon for tips too. and if you ask them if they know where you can find stuff that isn't so pricey, i'm sure they can help too)

leave-in deep conditioner

oils (?)

take a break from the damage!
Reply:Aloe Vera,is a good remedy for dry hair. It is obtained from the leaves of the Aloe Vera plant. Break the leaf and squeeze out the liquid inside, apply this liquid to your scalp, keep for about an hour and wash it off . Check out http://solutionsfordryhair.blogspot.com/ for more info.
