i plan on getting my hair straightened just before school starts... and on buying a new flat iron probably from trade secrets and im thinking about getting some biosilk.. should i?? ive heard great reviews but there all from white people so im not sure if its gonna do the same in my hair... HELP!! also how much does biosilk cost canadian?? i looked on the canadian site but didnt see any prices... THANKS!!
Is bioslik ok to use in african american hair?
I've used biosilk, but I found that you should only use a very little! It makes your hair feel nice and silky. I'm not sure how much it cost in Canadian dollars...sorry:( Good Luck!!
Reply:I have really curly hair and I tried it before and after a blow dry, then flat ironed my hair it wasn't all that! Truthfully I've seen cheaper stuff work better. You can go out and buy this brand called organic (green top) Olive oil treatment. They have oil moisturizing lotions, leave in conditioners and even a silky serum thats good to apply before you flat iron or wrap your hair. Don't break your pocket on that stuff...it isn't for everyone.

Hair drama! and i need help?
i have very curly hair but have been straightning it for some time now. Ive been using BIOSILK to keep it somewhat nice and not nappy but now it doesnt seem to be working. I know that straightning isnt all that healthy and i was just wondering if there was something else out there that would help with the dried dead hair that i have now. I have a ceramic hair straightner if that matters. i use Fructis shampoo and conditioner and biosilk and still seem to have frizzy nappy hair ALL the time. help please lol

John Frieda's "Frizz Ease" line has worked wonders for me. I have naturally curly hair too and can't believe how well this works.
It's like I have someone else's hair.
The new products I rave about are: "Refresh" conditioner and "Downplay" for puffiness. Also use "Secret Weapon" on dry hair for an instant shot of shiny frizz control.
I sound like a commercial, but I mean every word. Get it at Target, it is not really expensive either. Which is a plus. Try it, it is worth every penny.
If you don't want to change brands. Nutrogena puts out a clarifying shampoo that strips residue and makes your old shampoo work well again.

Get hair trimmed every 3 months (as much as needed)
Do V-05 hot oil as directed
Lower heat setting on straightener.
Only use harsh products(Irons,Sprays,Gel) when needed.
Wash hair every other day or wash daily but only apply shampoo to crown of head.
Use hair elaminator like Citre Shine only a dab needed.
Use leave in products with SPF.

Damaged hair help?
Okay...First of all my hair is down to my elbows and after i shower its kinda kinky..i used sunsilk anti poof then i use biosilk..My hair is still damaged. AND I CANT STOP STRAIGHTENING. its an addiction. it looks such a mess when its not straightened..but whe n i straighten it , it is feels smooth.. a little help? ived tried most of the hair products that helps damaged hair..biosilk works the best ;D

also before bed braid your hair so that it wown't get damaged thats what i do and i have less split ends and less dry hair

You can get any of these at a beauty supplies store like Sally Beauty Supplies or a drugstore. Also you might want to think about getting a good deep conditioner or a cholesterol treatment and do this twice a week. Leave it on for about 15 to 20 mins. Hope this helped =]

I know it's an odd question, but I can't stand it when shampoo smells like, well, shampoo. I'm not fond of the way the John Frieda Frizz-ease shampoo/conditioner smells, or the new Herbal Essences straightening one (the conditioner smells "off") or Biosilk... especially Biosilk. I have been using Frizz Ease Straight Answer Spray and Paul Michell Super Skinny Serum. They both work great on my thick long wavy frizzy hair, but I'm just about empty on the Frizz Ease Straight Answer and want to try something new that will help me straighten my hair as I blow dry and flat iron.
My sister in law is they only person that I know that has used BIOSILK STRATE and it works great on her hair. If I want she said she would buy it for me but I want to know what other people thought about it.

What will keep the gorgeous sheen on brand new human hair extensions? I've even tried calling the manufacturer
I have tried many products like Biosilk silk therapy, conditioner and water rinsing, topical shining, spray shining, anti-frizz and nothing seems to restore it. I have called the stylists who work with these extensions every day and they just keep suggesting the Biosilk. I was told by one manufacturer that there is nothing you can do to restore the soft luxurious sheen of new human hair extensions. Is there anyone who has found a way to do this?
What will keep the gorgeous sheen on brand new human hair extensions? I've even tried calling the manufacturer

Reply:The only thing that will work is Oil Sheen. I'd use something light too. You dont want to bog your extensions down with a lot of chemicals. But whatever it is you decide to use... use only one product for best results.

problem is with most extensions tht r human, the cuticle has been stripped during the harsh chemical processing. what most manufactureres do is coat the hair in silicone and enzymes to make it soft and shiny. after several shampoo's tht coating wears off.
ive tht exact same problem with mine...and its been a lil trial and error, but i think ive kinda got the hang of it.
because when u get extensions, they r ALOT of high maintenance...u have add moisture to em cos because they dont it get it naturally like ur own does.
doing conditioning treatments helps...ive found mixing 2 together really helps.
also using a maintenance spray will help.
(cos i;m hairdresser i;m a lil product happy so when i did get extensions i didnt really change my routine to my hair too much)
so...
1) shampoo - i use matrix biolage ultra hydrating shampoo
2) conditioner i use Aussie 3 min miracle reconstructor and TIGI dumb blonde conditioner - dont b afraid to mix 2 or 3 conditioners
3) after towel drying hair i use a leave in conditioner - sallys own brand Tea Tree leave in conditioner. this helps detangle the hair.(when detangle extensions work from the ends up to the roots it minimises damage)
4) b4 blow drying i use fantasia hair polisher mist (can b found in sallys hair and beauty) and TIGI ego boost. when blow drying section the hair - makes it easier and doesnt damage the hair as much.
5) after blow drying i use a serum on my hair so smooth it over..i then secetion hair off and str8en.
6) i use a smoothing cream to stop it frizzing up.
dont 4get theres different qualities of hair - most comes from asia..usually india or china...some claim to b european but they arent. (european hair is not strong enough to go thro all the chemical processing and then still b classed as usuable where as asian hair is naturally alot stronger and can withstand all the chemicals)
the true way to get good hair extensions is to get remy hair, but this costs alot, but remy hair is hair where it still has the cuticle
