2 hair textures WHAT TO DO?

okay so I have frizzy wavy hair and I went to the salon to get a MAGIC STRAIGHT perm. i've done it about 6 times now and dont know what to do. I negelcted it badly and straightened my whole head after coming out of the shower (because of dry ends and brittleness, straightening it seemed to make it better but little did I know that my hair was getting worse)

after i straighten my whole head, i put a littl bit of BIOSILK to keep it smooth.

my mom wont let me get a perm anymore due to the fact that my hair is just SOO UNHEALTHY. i really am cooped up at home and limited to salons now. AND my curly/wavy hair is growing back causing TWO textures. i have no choice but to waste 2 precious hours of every night straightening my hair and making it even unhealthier every time.

what do i do?

I use LOREAL vive pro smooth intense shampoo and conditioner but that doesnt seems to help.

please give me some ideas. I surfed around and saw that i should get deep conditioning but im limited.

ok.. you have wavy hair right? why not show off those waves? but first you want healthy hair. make sure to deep condition your hair.. and i guess if your hair is as bad as you say do that every other day. then when you get out, apply gel to your hands and scruch your hair from bottom to top. make sure your hair looks nice because this is how it will set. when your hair is the way you want, DO NOT TOUCH and let air dry so you don't cause any more damage. GOOD LUCK = ]
Reply:umm well that sucks...im sorry. but deep conditioning helps. i have the same type of hair, but i am too lazy to perm straighten it. you should deep condition, then buy a smoothing shampoo and conditioner. Slicklikne does not straighten your hair, but makes it ALOT less frizzy, and easier to take care of. Just grow your hair out, and that will help, cuz the longer you grower it the less curly , and easier to tak care of! GOOD LUCK!!!

Are there any professional cosmetologists out there who knows what I can use to stop my hair from shedding?

If this helps, I'm African American. I take really good care of my hair. I have been using Biolage products as well as Biosilk Vitamin oil. My hair has been in perfect condition until recently. Everytime I wash it, it sheds, in big amounts. Even when it's dry, if I tug at one strand, it comes out easily. I got 3 haircuts in 2 months, deep condition(with heat). Still no results!! Is there a product out there that can stop this immediately???

I am a black woman also I use Nioxin volumizing shampoo to make hair fuller (can be purchased at a supercuts or caucasian salon like the ones in the mall) and I use optimum heat activated deep conditioner every week. The conditioner comes in a burgundy bottle and can be purchased at any hair store that sell ethnic products. Hair vitamins help also I used Basic Hair Vitamins and they come in a white bottle with a black and orange label. Also don't leave conditioner on hair to long nor do should u condition without a cap.

Reply:Are you going through, or have you recently been through an extremely stressful time? Are you on a new or different medication? Do you have a Thyroid condition? If you have not done something chemical or styling wise you need to look at internally what is going on with you. The health of your hair is a direct reflection of your general health.

My hair is too time consuming! It's chin-length & layered, yet it takes 45 mins-1 hour to blow dry/straighten.

Am I the only one who spends this much time straightening chin-length, thick hair?

I usually blow dry it in sections (or just blow dry it without using a round brush), and then flat iron it. I use Biosilk when I blow dry, and then again, when I flat iron.

Does anyone have any advice about how to straighten hair in less time? Or is 45 minutes a normal amount of time to spend?

My hair is too time consuming! It's chin-length %26amp; layered, yet it takes 45 mins-1 hour to blow dry/straighten.
It only takes me about 25-30 mins. and my hair is halfway down my back! I simply blowdry it and part it into two sections down the middle of your scalp. Then, use your flat-iron and straighten it piece by piece on both the left and right side (one at a time, of course). Work your way from the front to the back. You'll finish much faster.

Also, get a flat-iron that has bigger plates. I have the Wigo Jade flat-iron. It was a little expensive (around $135 but way cheaper on eBay) but TOTALLY worth it! It's really great because it heats up quickly and the jade plates make my hair look totally smooth and shiny/silky. I hope that helped!
Reply:I work a hair salon every now and then and when istaighten ppl hair it takes about 20 min but when my mom does is it takes about 10 so i guess it depends on how long you've been doing it.
Reply:take the time to get it right. aren't you worth it!
Reply:When you get it professionally done it usually doesn't take as long. Its a lot harder to dry it on ur own when you can't see what you are doing to the back of your hair, and if you are as picky as I am you want to do it right! I recommend that you buy the CHI profesional ceramic flat iron($120). All I do is let my hair air dry or dry it with a blow dryer (no styling, or brushing) and part my hair in sections and use the CHI iron. Trust me I have curly latin hair and my sister has permed hair,by the time you are done you will look like you have asian hair!!! But you must make sure that you do it in small sections and that you press it down evenly in each section. I have never been to a salon again after I purchased this iron!!!! I have chin length hair and it takes me 20 min to do it!!!

Help! My hair is frizzy?

I have wavy hair and it's been months since I've dyed it or anything and it's gettinf damaged. I've used biosilk joice any suggestions?

Help! My hair is frizzy?
I recommend Aussie. It can be bought at any store like walmart or target and is relatively cheap. I have used it for the past 7 years actually! Recently they came out with a new collection for wavy hair. They have always had a gel called "frizease" that has worked wonders (I have frizzy hair too and really dry since i dye it blonde). My fave shampoo and conditioner is out of their "moist" collection. They also have a product called 3 minute miracle which smoothes out you hair really well. I strongly recommend to check them out.
Reply:Aussie Three Minute Miracle, put on your hair for three to five minutes a couple of times a week and it will keep your hair soft.

It deeply conditions and tames frizz.
Reply:Are you using a shampoo with sulfates? Some curlies and wavies cannot use these as they cause dryness and frizz.
Reply:use john Frieda products and a Remington wet to straight straightener sorry for the miss spelled words!
Reply:go to the heater
Reply:try frizzease products.

Backcombing? Tips needed!?

I have been dying my hair red since about July, so I guess you could say it is dry and damaged. I straighten it almost everyday with my CHI, but I use Biosilk to protect it. My hair is naturally big and frizzy, but when I straighten it I find that I lose all of my precious volume. My friends tell me to backcomb the roots and spray it with hairspray. Everytime I do it I end up just making a frizzy mess! Any tips on backcombing hair to add body? Or should I not be doing this because I already damage my hair enough?

Backcombing? Tips needed!?
try the product "tease in a bottle" by Sexy hair Concepts, gives you the look of backcombing with out backcombing, hope this helps:)
Reply:Backcomb, but brush over it, i just backcomb on the sides of my hair, brush some hair over it.

I prefer to use a brush rather than a comb tho. Report It

Reply:Use a finetoothed comb. Backcombing isn't damaging to your hair.

Straightening hair, what products to buy?

I have thick curly shoulder length hair. I have a Chi Turbo but it takes to long just to use that, so i straighten with a blow dryer and then go over it with the Chi. I have biosilk which i apply afterwards. What else should I use? Something to protect my hair from the heat or to make it nice....

Straightening hair, what products to buy?
You should go to a professional salon and ask what they suggest. I personally use Redken Smooth Down because it helps control frizz by protecting the hair from overheating. Chi's are extremely hot, so you should definitely put something in your hair before flat ironing so you don't burn the heck out of your hair! You'll even be able to tell the difference the first time you use something.
Reply:The herbal essence shampoo that says 'straighten up' is awesome and 'Sunsilk straighten up' works so great and you really don't even have to straighten your hair. You just put it in after you take a shower.
Reply:maybe u shouldnt use all of that. ur hair will fall out. i guarantee it. besides curly is in fashion now.
Reply:Sounds like your doing the right stuff...you could try a moisturizing shampoo(Dove has a good one) or a moisture treatment (Aussie Deep 3 Minute Miracle)...you can get both of these at Wal-Mart
Reply:Matrix at Beauty Salon the product line for straight hair, removes

frizzy and curl. It's orange, the bottles. The people at the salon will know what you want.Get a thermal protector too.
Reply:you should get CHI iron guard....it works great for my hair.
Reply:Get some smoothing creme or heat protection creme, just look in the styling products at the store you'll find it quickly
